Linklaters advises on sustainability-linked financing

Linklaters has advised BNP Paribas Bank Polska S.A. on a EUR 21.5m sustainability-linked loan granted to Velvet CARE sp. z o.o., a leading producer of hygiene products.

Sustainability-linked loan is a form of financing that includes additional commitments of the borrower towards environmental, social and governance (ESG) targets. In this financing, the lenders, together with Velvet CARE, have developed four ESG goals focused on reduction of water consumption, decrease of packaging weight, certification of raw materials and work safety. These are key areas in the company’s operations.

The transaction was led by senior associate Maciej Chęciński, supported by senior associate Piotr Hurkała and junior associate Marcin Wołoszyn from Warsaw banking and finance practice. Adrian Horne (counsel) supervised the transaction
