Legal Desire has been publishing since 2012. In that time we have put out more than 20,000 stories, covered over 12,000 deals and transactions, and more than 2,000 lawyers and law firms have published with us.

The Publisher Plan is how firms work with us properly: one annual arrangement instead of quoting, approving and invoicing every announcement one at a time.

Why firms move to a plan

Most firms arrive here buying placements one at a time. That works until it does not. A lateral hire lands on a Friday, a deal closes the week your marketing lead is on leave, and the piece that needed to go out on Tuesday goes out the following month because it was still being quoted.

A plan takes the commercial negotiation out of it. The arrangement is agreed once for the year, so nothing waits on a quote. What it does not do is skip editorial review: everything you send is still read and approved before it goes live. What changes is that plan holders go to the front of the queue.

Who reads Legal Desire

Practising lawyers, in-house counsel and general counsel, law firm partners, legal marketing and business development teams, legal operations professionals, and law students entering the profession. Our readership is global and concentrated in the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union.

We cover legal news, law firm and in-house appointments, mergers and acquisitions and capital markets deal reports, expert legal analysis, forensic science, injury law and legal careers.

What we will and will not publish

A plan does not mean anything runs. Everything is still reviewed and approved before it goes live, and we hold the same standards for plan holders as for everyone else. The plan buys you priority in that queue, not an exemption from it.

We publish

Announcements that are true and verifiable, analysis that is useful to a legal audience, deal and appointment news, and thought leadership with an actual argument in it.

We do not publish

Gambling, adult content, crypto promotion, anything defamatory, and anything making claims we cannot verify. If a piece needs changes we tell you what and why rather than simply declining it.

Sponsored and partner content is labelled as such, always. Our full editorial standards set out how we separate commercial arrangements from editorial coverage.

Other ways to work with us

Not every firm needs a full plan. We also handle individual sponsored articles, press release distribution, link insertions into existing coverage, newsletter placement and job listings.

These are quoted by email rather than listed here. What something costs depends on what it is, where it sits and how much work it takes at our end, and a rate card would just get in the way of giving you an honest answer. Tell us what you have in mind and we will come back to you, usually the same working day.
