Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (‘Freshfields’) has advised Goldman Sachs International and UBS AG, joint global coordinators in the offering and listing of Global Depository Receipts (‘GDRs’) of Sunwoda Electronic Co., Ltd. (‘Sunwoda Electronic’) on SIX Swiss Exchange. Trading in the GDRs commenced on 14 November 2022. The transaction raised proceeds of approximately US$440m.
Sunwoda Electronic is a leader in the global lithium-ion battery industry with diversified product offerings, including 3C battery, EV battery and ESS battery and solution. It is a primary supplier to various world-leading smartphone and laptop brands. The company has been listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange since 2011.
The Freshfields team advising on the transaction was led by partner and head of China ECM Richard Wang and partners Howie Farn and Simone Bono. They were supported by senior associate Sabrina Ma and associates Yitian Jin and Zhuolin Li.
