Linklaters advises Genneia on exchange offer for newly issued green bonds

Represents the first exchange offer in Argentina replacing standard bonds with green bonds

Linklaters has advised Genneia S.A. (“Genneia”) on the exchange offer and consent solicitation relating to its 8.750% Series “XX” Notes due 2022 and Notes due January 22, 2022 (“Existing Notes”) for newly issued 8.750% Senior Secured Notes 2027 (“New Notes”), plus certain cash consideration. An aggregate principal amount of US$461 million, representing 83.38% of the aggregate principal amount of Existing Notes, were tendered in the exchange offer, and an aggregate principal amount of US$366 million of new notes were issued. The debt refinanced will be allocated in accordance with Genneia’s green bond framework, and the new notes are expected to support the achievement of United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals related to renewable energy.

Genneia is the leading renewable power company in Argentina.
