Latham & Watkins Advises on Hanwha Life’s Sustainable Securities Offering

Latham & Watkins has advised JP Morgan, BofA Securities, Citigroup, and Standard Chartered Bank as joint bookrunners and Hanwha Investment and Securities as joint lead manager on Hanwha Life Insurance Co., Ltd’s Rule 144A/Reg. S offering of US$750 million 3.379% Tier II Subordinated Sustainability Securities due 2032. The transaction represents the first international offering as a Tier II subordinated sustainability securities by a Korean insurance company. Established in 1946, Hanwha Life is Korea’s oldest insurance company and part of the Hanwha Group, one of the country’s largest business conglomerates and a Fortune Global 500 company.

The Latham team was led by Seoul partner Sukjoon (Richard) Lee, with Eric Yiu, Fan Wang, Jee Yoon, and Yejin Kim.
