Latham & Watkins Advises on GlobalConnect’s €2.7 Billion Refinancing

Latham & Watkins advised EQT on a €2.7 billion refinancing for its portfolio company GlobalConnect, the leading alternative fiber-based data communication and data center services provider to enterprises and consumers in Northern Europe. The refinancing has raised further funds for expansion and was backed by a group of 14 Scandinavian and international lenders.

The new debt refinances loans previously held separately by GlobalConnect, which is focused on Denmark and Norway, and Sweden-focused IP-Only. The two companies merged last year to form the GlobalConnect Group, which has an 84,350 km fibre network covering the three Scandinavian countries and part of northern Germany as well as a portfolio of data centres.

The Latham team was led by London finance partner Conrad Andersen, counsel Rebecca Crowley, and associate Laura Elliott.
