Mubadala Capital and SailGP, the global racing championship, have announced a strategic investment to launch a new SailGP team to represent Brazil. This team will be the first South American team to join the SailGP league and the first new team under new ownership to be confirmed ahead of season five.
Latham & Watkins advised Mubadala Capital in the transaction, with an Entertainment, Sports & Media team led by London partner Patrick Mitchell, Chicago partner Jonathan Solomon, New York counsel Julian Azran, and London associate Alice Drayton.
