Latham & Watkins has advised CordenPharma, a leading pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) and a portfolio company of Astorg, on its acquisition of AmbioPharm.
With the acquisition, CordenPharma broadens its peptide API development and manufacturing capabilities, particularly for complex peptide programs. The transaction expands the company’s upstream and downstream peptide manufacturing footprint by adding capacity for US-based peptide API supply and introducing Shanghai-based production capabilities for global customers.
Since its acquisition by Astorg in 2022, CordenPharma has continued to expand its global peptides platform through strategic investments and increased manufacturing capacity. As part of the transaction, AmbioPharm’s shareholders will reinvest in the combined business.
