Duolingo has announced that it has acquired Gunner, a Detroit-based animation studio startup, to grow its language learning business.
Latham & Watkins LLP represents Duolingo in the transaction with a deal team led by Bay Area partners Ben Potter and Saad Khanani, and Bay Area counsel Arielle Singh. Advice was also provided on benefits and compensation matters by Bay Area partner James Metz; and on tax matters by Bay Area partner Katharine Moir.
The firm also advised Duolingo on its IPO last year as well as several financings including its Series F.
