Kirkland & Ellis advised Granicus, a portfolio company of Vista Equity Partners, and the leading provider of cloud-based citizen engagement technologies and services, on its acquisition of Calytera, a leader in delivering global permitting, compliance and licensing best practices and workflows. The transaction was announced on Oct. 29, 2020.
The Calytera transaction is Kirkland’s fourth acquisition for Granicus in less than two years. In November 2018, Granicus acquired SouthTech Systems, a leader in government records management and disclosure. In April 2019, Granicus acquired Firmstep, a London-based global leader specializing in government service transformation. In November 2019, Granicus acquired Host Compliance, the premier short-term rental compliance SaaS provider for local and state governments.
The Granicus team was led by transactional associates Michael Hanna and Eric Reading, with support from transactional partners David Dixon, Vlad Kroll and Ari Levi.
