Kirkland & Ellis advised GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, on a joint venture with Kennedy Wilson to acquire and manage urban logistics properties in the UK with the potential to expand into Ireland and Spain. The joint venture will be seeded with a $220 million portfolio comprising 18 urban logistics assets in the UK and will seek additional investment opportunities targeting total assets of up to $1 billion.
The Kirkland team was led by transactional partners Celyn Evans, Annette Baillie and Matthew Elliott and also included associates Ayca Yilmaz and Irfan Ahmed with assistance from tax partners Tim Lowe and Cian O’Connor and associate Loviisa Langdon and debt finance partner Kazik Michalski and associate Yasmin Smedley.
