Anthropic, the AI safety company behind Claude, wants an in-house regulatory lawyer to lead its legal work on US AI regulation and help keep its global compliance posture consistent. You would counsel teams on readiness as new federal and state laws take shape, give day-to-day advice once they are in force, and support non-contentious engagement with US regulators and standards bodies, working closely with colleagues running the EU and international workstreams.
What the work involves:
- Tracking federal, state and standards developments and designing compliance approaches before obligations bite
- Turning ambiguous requirements into practical guidance for legal, safety, security and product teams
- Handling notifications, information requests and reporting obligations alongside the Policy team
Published salary: $335,000 to $385,000 a year.
