Global law firm Hogan Lovells Cadwalader continues to strengthen its patent practice in Dusseldorf: On September 1, Dr. Claudia Hertzsch joined partner Dr. Felipe Zilly’s team as counsel. She moved from Hoyng Rokh Monegier, where she had previously worked as counsel.
Dr. Claudia Hertzsch is a German and European patent attorney and a qualified pharmacist with a doctorate. She advises national and international clients on patent infringement and validity proceedings. Her particular expertise lies in the life sciences and chemical sectors, including pharmaceutical formulations, medical use and dosage inventions, small molecules and their manufacture, as well as protein-based therapeutics. In addition, she has many years of experience in national and cross-border patent litigation.

In 2025, the firm had already taken targeted steps to further strengthen its patent expertise in chemistry, pharmaceuticals, and life sciences with the promotion of patent attorney and biochemist Dr. Felipe Zilly to partner and the appointment of lawyer, European patent attorney and pharmacist Dr. Lars-Fabian Blume as counsel. With the addition of Dr. Claudia Hertzsch, the firm is further expanding this expertise.
