Hogan Lovells Cadwalader advises Eaton Corporation on the acquisition of COL Group

6 October 2026 – Hogan Lovells Cadwalader has advised Eaton Corporation, a global intelligent power management company, on its agreement to acquire 100% of the share capital of COL Group from the Power Opportunities fund managed by Oaktree Capital Management and other minority shareholders, at an enterprise value of €810 million.

The acquisition will enable Eaton to integrate complementary technologies, manufacturing capabilities and engineering expertise, strengthening the U.S. group’s European power distribution platform and enhancing its ability to meet growing demand from utility and data center customers for resilient and sustainable power infrastructure. The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.

COL Group is a leading Italian company focused on the development of technologies and solutions for electricity transmission and distribution. The company employs approximately 400 people and operates facilities in Turin, Milan, Bergamo and Catania.

Hogan Lovells Cadwalader advised Eaton with a cross-border team led by partners Luca Picone (Milan) and Will Yavinsky (Washington DC), together with counsel Martina Di Nicola and senior associates Francesco De Michele and Eva Campione.
