Led by Frankfurt partner Alexander Stefan Rieger international law firm Hogan Lovells has advised the leading Dutch regional data center provider NorthC on the acquisition of the data centers and connectivity services of Netrics in Switzerland. Further key support was provided by Frankfurt Hogan Lovells partner Jörg Herwig and Andreas Moll as Swiss counsel from Prager Dreifuss AG.
The transaction includes three data centers – two in Münchenstein (near Basel) and one in Biel – with a total floor space of approximately 13,000 m2, over 7.5MW power capacity and opportunities for further expansion.
The acquisition further expands NorthC Group’s growing network of regional data centers in Northwest Europe. It will now enable the company to serve customers in Switzerland and create a leading regional network with a solid platform, similar to its Dutch regional data center network. Together, this marks NorthC Group’s entry into the Swiss market and its second international acquisition, following the acquisition of IP-Exchange in Germany in autumn 2021.
