DLA Piper advised Renovo Capital, LLC, a private equity firm investing in lower middle market technical product and service companies, in the sale of portfolio company Otodata Holdings Inc. to GI Partners.
As part of the transaction, GI Partners made a majority investment in Otodata, while Renovo and members of the management team retained minority interests.
Renovo acquired Montreal-based Otodata from its founders in 2020. Since then, DLA Piper teams across multiple jurisdictions have advised Renovo and Otodata on a series of strategic acquisitions in the US, Poland, Ireland, Israel, Brazil, and Chile, supporting the company’s international expansion. Under Renovo’s ownership, Otodata grew into a leading provider of remote monitoring solutions for distributed tank assets, with more than 3.5 million monitored tanks worldwide.
