DLA Piper expands business and commercial litigation bench with Senior Advisor Luc Dowling

DLA Piper has welcomed Luc Dowling as a Senior Advisor in its Business and Commercial Litigation practice, adding his extensive experience at the intersection of litigation, legal assets, and capital markets. He is based in the firm’s New York office.

Dowling’s background includes more than two decades across alternative investment management, complex special situations, and litigation-related finance, including principal-side work on sovereign, municipal, and corporate distressed debt, judgment enforcement, litigation funding, and capital solutions. His work supports clients in sectors and matters involving high-stakes commercial disputes, legal asset monetization, and cross-border enforcement.

“Clients increasingly require advisors who understand not only the legal dimensions of complex disputes and restructurings, but also the financial and investment considerations that drive outcomes,” said Richard Chesley, DLA Piper’s Co-Global Managing Partner. “Luc’s extensive experience across law, finance, and special situations funds positions him exceptionally well to help clients navigate opportunities and challenges at the forefront of these evolving markets.”
