Asset management group Aurelius has purchased Footasylum from JD Sports Fashion Plc for GBP37.5 million.
Footasylum is a leading retailer of sportswear operating 63 stores in the UK, with expected revenues in excess of GBP287 million in 2022.
The acquisition of the Rochdale headquartered company comes after the Competition and Markets Authority identified competition concerns, consequently ordering JD Sports Fashion Plc to sell Footasylum. The high-profile acquisition completed on 5 August 2022.
The GBP37.5 million purchase was funded using the proceeds of an asset based finance facility. The DLA Piper team advising Aurelius consisted of Joseph Frew, Alastair Carruthers and Alex Stone.
