Dentons Hong Kong has advised China Merchants Commercial Real Estate Investment Trust (SEHK: 1503) on its HK$528.5 million acquisition of Nos.470, 472, 474, 476 and 478 Chatham Road North (now known as The Quad), a 25-storey building situated near Ho Man Tin and To Kwa Wan, Kowloon.
The project is CMC REIT’s second acquisition of student hostel in Hong Kong which is incentivised under the HKSAR Government’s “Hostels in the City” scheme. This strategic acquisition supports the “Study in Hong Kong” brand, aligns with increased non-local student quotas, and establishes a preliminary student housing network within Kowloon’s core academic hub.
The Dentons Hong Kong team was led by corporate partner Stephen Chan and supported by managing associate Emily Chow.
