Clifford Chance advises TAV Airports on US$670 million financing of Almaty International Airport

Global law firm Clifford Chance has advised TAV Airports on the successful US$670 million senior secured financing of Almaty International Airport, Kazakhstan’s largest and busiest airport and a key transport hub connecting Central Asia with global markets.

The financing, arranged by Bank of America Europe, consists of a US$650 million term facility and a US$20 million revolving credit facility. The proceeds will be used to refinance the airport’s existing 2021 financing and support future capital expenditure and major maintenance programmes.

The transaction further strengthens Clifford Chance’s long-standing relationship with TAV Airports, having previously advised on financings relating to Antalya, Ankara Esenboğa, Ohrid and Skopje airports. It also underscores the firm’s leading position in airport and infrastructure financing across Türkiye, Central Asia and broader emerging markets.

The Clifford Chance team was led by counsel Başar Kırka(Istanbul) and partners Sait Eryılmaz (Istanbul) and Nikolai Eatwell (Paris), with support from Melisa Mengü(Istanbul) and Işıl Acar (Istanbul).
