Clifford Chance has advised international private equity firm Cinven on completion of its €500m sale of the Tractel group, a world leading safety specialist providing reliable, innovative and cost-effective working-at-height solutions and services, to Alimak Group AB.
Tractel has subsidiaries in 19 countries, around 1,000 employees, customers in 120 countries and over 10,000 distributors globally. Its manufacturing sites are located in Europe, the US, Canada, China, Singapore and Turkey.
Alimak Group AB is a global provider of vertical access solutions for professional use, listed on Nasdaq OMX Stockholm. The acquisition adds a new vertical into the Alimak group, the Height Safety & Productivity Solutions division.
Clifford Chance advised Cinven on this transaction with a team led by Laurent Schoenstein (partner), Raphaël Durand (counsel) and Alice Declercq (associate) on the Corporate/M&A aspects, with the support of David Tayar (partner) and Hendrik Coppoolse (associate) on the merger control aspects. A range of other global offices and practice areas including in Luxembourg (Katia Gauzès, partner), New York (Benjamin Sibbett, partner) and Frankfurt were also involved.
