Clifford Chance advises BC Partners Credit on US$870 million aircraft financing

Global law firm Clifford Chance has represented a fund advised by BC Partners Credit, the private credit arm of BC Partners, on a c. US$870 million senior debt facility in connection with the refinancing of a portfolio of 11 widebody aircraft leased to tier 1 airlines, in partnership with global aviation asset manager FPG Amentum.   Clifford Chance also advised BC Partners Credit when it acquired the aircraft (formerly within the Crianza Aviation platform) in December 2025.

The new facility, arranged by Investec Bank plc, is secured against a portfolio comprising 5x Boeing 777-300ER, 3x Boeing 787-9, 2x Boeing 787-10 and 1x Airbus A350-900 aircraft.

The transaction involved a bespoke financing structure designed to address a portfolio spanning multiple aircraft types, varying lease tenors, multi-currency rental streams and a complex geopolitical backdrop, and supports FPG Amentum’s ongoing management of the aircraft on behalf of its investors.

The Clifford Chance team was led by partner Oliver Hipperson, with a team including senior associates Emma Durrell and Anna Mammedova, associates Rebecca Biggins and Ope Oreyemi, and trainees Bartek Trzos and Charisse Peh.

Congratulations to BC Partners, FPG Amentum, Investec, CaixaBank, Mashreq Bank, Kookmin Bank and all those involved in this significant transaction.
