Clifford Chance advises APA Corporation on acquisition of Alaska assets

Global law firm Clifford Chance has advised APA Corporation on its acquisition of Savant Alaska, LLC for approximately US$70 million plus payments contingent on future development work.

The transaction includes the Badami facilities, which have nameplate production capacity of approximately 40,000 barrels of oil per day, along with extensive supporting infrastructure, including accommodation facilities, a grind-and-inject system, barge landing and wharf facilities, runway access, gravel resources and other field infrastructure, along with the Nutaaq Pipeline, which has capacity of approximately 80,000 barrels of oil per day originating at Badami and providing access to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System.

The team was led out of Houston by partner David Sweeney and included Joclynn Marsh, Thomas Shattuck, Melissa Sanchez and Tasneem Zakir with Ty’Meka Reeves-Sobers and Kami McFarland advising on environmental matters, Todd Lowther and Ira Aghai advising on tax matters, Reuven Falik, David Walsh, and Emma Himes advising on employment matters, and Marcia Hook advising on energy regulatory matters.
