Effective February 1, 2019, Chugh, LLP acquired Dewan and Associates PLLC (“Dewan”). Along with the acquisition, the firm welcomes Ms. Suneeta Dewan, the former owner and managing partner of Dewan, and her staff. Ms. Dewan will be joining the Firm’s New Jersey and New York teams as Senior Partner focused on immigration growth and business development. Mmes. Diya Matthews and Prema Roddam of Chugh, LLP were integral promoters of this acquisition, and will be working directly with Ms. Dewan in New Jersey and New York.
Ms. Dewan has provided legal immigration counsel for clients from over 100 countries, over the past 20 years. Her clients range from multinational IT corporations, pharmaceutical manufacturers, healthcare providers, architectural firms, garment and textile manufacturers, financial brokerage companies, accounting firms and jewelry manufacturers. She has also worked with hedge funds and private equity funds.
Ms. Dewan began her practice in 1997. A Juris Doctor from Seton Hall School of Law (US), she also holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Osmania University (India) and a Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Economics and Political Science from St. Francis College (India). Before embarking on her legal career, Ms. Dewan was a successful business owner. This foundational business experience has guided the remarkable trajectory and diversification of her legal practice. She is a pillar in the South Asian legal community in the United States, and regularly advises several non-profit organizations in the tri-state area.
