Baker McKenzie advises Bluegem Capital Partners on the sale of a majority stake in The Béaba Suavinex Group

Leading global law firm, Baker McKenzie has advised Bluegem Capital Partners (Bluegem), the pan-European mid-market private equity firm specialising in real economy staple businesses, on its agreement to sell a majority stake in The Béaba Suavinex Group, a leading premium baby care platform, to Portobello Capital (Portobello), one of Spain’s leading private equity firms, through its second investment of Fund V.

The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions. Bluegem and Portobello will continue to partner together and with the management team to support its next phase of growth.

Over the coming years, with the support of Portobello and Bluegem, Béaba-Suavinex will focus on accelerating the international expansion of Suavinex – leveraging Béaba’s existing international footprint – further developing the online channel, broadening the product offering into adjacent baby care categories, and pursuing selective M&A opportunities.

The transaction was led by Private Equity Partners David Allen (London) and Juanjo Corral (Madrid), working closely with Emma Burton (London), Michael Doumet and Michael Koubi (Paris), Sam Trowbridge (Tax, London) and Anthony Gamble and Tania Karmeinsky (Antitrust & Competition, London).
