Study Notes: Vicarious Liability

A person is held liable for his own wrongful act and not for the wrongful act done by others. But sometimes he has to be made accountable for the wrongful acts of another because of his position in life as regards the other person. Vicarious liability makes a person liable for damages, which are not the legal consequences of his own acts. In this presentation the liability of the other person is counted upon and even the Government is trapped in this sometimes.
