Sidley represented Aspida Life Re Ltd., a Bermuda-based life and annuity reinsurance company, in its execution of its second reinsurance transaction in Japan, effective June 1, 2025. The transaction was completed with a highly rated Japanese life insurance carrier and is a significant step for Aspida Re as it continues to expand its global footprint and deliver innovative reinsurance solutions to life and annuity insurance partners worldwide.
The Sidley team was led by Jon Kelly and John Grothaus (Insurance), and included Katerina Glor and Spencer Caro (Insurance); Peter Edgerton (Tax); and Andrew Shoyer and Carys Golesworthy (Global Arbitration, Trade and Advocacy).
