Ropes & Gray advised Berkshire Partners and Accela, a cloud-based platform of government software solutions and a portfolio company of Berkshire Partners, in an agreement by Accela to issue new equity to Francisco Partners and redeem a portion of the equity held by existing holders, including Berkshire Partners. The transaction was announced in a press release on September 6.
The deal team was led by private equity partner Taylor Hart, and private equity senior attorney Graham Foster and included executive compensation & employee benefits partners Renata Ferrari and Kyle Higley, finance partner Arek Maczka, tax partner Pamela Glazier and counsel Tristan Evans-Wilent, and litigation & enforcement partner Annie Herdman.
