Mayer Brown and Tauil & Chequer in association with Mayer Brown advised Energisa S.A., one of Brazil’s leading private energy groups, in connection with the sale of five power transmission concessionaires to Taesa (Transmissora Aliança de Energia Elétrica S.A.), in a transaction valued at BRL 2.29 billion (enterprise value), with an equity value of BRL 1.54 billion.
The assets comprise approximately 1,300 km of transmission lines and 12 substations, representing 27% of Energisa’s allowed annual revenue in the transmission segment. The transaction reflects the ongoing consolidation trend in Brazil’s power transmission sector.
The Mayer Brown and Tauil & Chequer Global Energy team was led by partner Bruno Salzano, and included partner Débora Yanasse and associates Luisa Tortolano Barreto, Rebeca Liareno, and Anna Marques. The team was based in the firm’s São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro offices.
