Linklaters advises Chartered Investment on the expansion of the Opus issuance platform for retail offerings

Linklaters has advised Chartered Investment Germany GmbH (Chartered Investment) on the structuring and expansion of its Opus issuance platform.

Opus is Chartered Investment’s independent issuance platform for structured products. The platform consolidates the processes required for issuing structured securities within a modular framework and enables professional market participants to efficiently implement both traditional and tokenised securities. Since its launch in 2013, more than 20,000 products have been issued through Opus.

The Opus product offering has now been expanded through the addition of a base prospectus for structured securities issued by Opus (Public) Chartered Issuance S.A., enabling public offerings to retail investors in the European Union and Switzerland. The base prospectus features an innovative structure for the terms and conditions of the securities and facilitates the issuance of a broad range of equity-linked and fixed income products, either as traditional securities or as crypto securities.

Christian Storck, Global Head of Capital Markets at Linklaters, commented:

“By expanding Opus, Chartered Investment is setting an innovative benchmark in the structured securities market. The base prospectus combines regulatory efficiency with a high degree of flexibility in the structuring of a wide variety of product solutions, opening up new opportunities for public offerings to retail investors across the European Union.”

Linklaters advised Chartered Investment with a team led by partner Christian Storck and managing associate Maximilian Grimmeiß (both Capital Markets). The team also included associate Elias Kehrel and transaction lawyer Alexander Dill (both Capital Markets, Frankfurt).

Linklaters regularly advises German and international banks and financial institutions on the structuring of issuance platforms for structured securities as well as on the development of innovative structures for retail and institutional investors.
