Link Legal is advising and assisting Ami Organics Limited in its acquisition of majority stake in Baba Fine Chemicals. The acquisition will be funded through a combination of cash and issuance of securities of Ami Organics on a preferential basis.
Ami Organics is a company listed at the NSE and is a major player in the manufacture of active pharmaceutical ingredients and specialty chemicals.
Baba Fine Chemicals manufactures chemical products for the semiconductor industry and is the sole manufacturer of certain product categories in the country.
The acquisition will herald Ami Organics’ foray into the semiconductor industry which has a very high entry barrier. It would give Ami Organics access to the complementing products of Baba Fine Chemicals, which are focused on the semiconductor industry and expand its product basket in electronic chemicals.
