I Squared Capital, a leading independent global infrastructure investor, announced the final close of ISQ Global Infrastructure Credit Fund II at more than US$2.4 billion, over four times the size of its predecessor fund. Together with more than US$600 million in commitments and expected commitments to co-investment vehicles, total commitments to the strategy reach US$3 billion, double the original US$1.5 billion target, reflecting strong demand from institutional investors for infrastructure credit. The fund lends to mid-market businesses that own and operate essential infrastructure, including power generation and grids, fiber networks and data centers, and ports, terminals, and logistics. The fund has already committed approximately 37% of its capital across seven investments.
Latham & Watkins LLP represented I Squared Capital in the fund formation with an Investment Funds team led by New York partners Edward Nelson and Oliver Prakash-Jenkins, with associates Christina Smith, Gabe Pugel, Molly Nelson, Stephanie Niamonitakis, and Zafreen Siddiquee. Advice was also provided on global fundraising matters by London partner Clare Scott; on funds regulatory matters by Washington, D.C. partner Aaron Gilbride, with associate Haley Hohensee; on tax matters by New York partner Greg Hannibal and New York counsel Lauren Bewley, with associates Arash Lotfi and Claire Park; on structured finance matters by Chicago partner Matt Hays and New York counsel Maeve Chandler, with associates Ananya Hindupur and Sylvia Zhang; and on ESG matters by New York partner Betty Huber and London counsel Anne Mainwaring.
