Latham & Watkins Advises Neuberger Berman in Acquisition of Minority Stake in HSI

Neuberger Berman, a private, independent, employee-owned investment manager, has announced that funds advised by Neuberger Berman have led a minority recapitalization of Health & Safety Institute (HSI). Neuberger Berman joins existing investor Waud Capital Partners, a leading private equity firm based in Chicago, which will retain a majority stake in HSI.

Latham & Watkins LLP represented Neuberger Berman in the transaction with a corporate deal team led by New York partners Stelios Saffos, Peter Sluka, and Andrew Blumenthal, with associates Naomi Smith, Paul Lau, and James Sullivan. Advice was also provided on tax matters by Century City/Los Angeles partner Pardis Zomorodi; on benefits matters by Century City/Bay Area partner Julie Crisp, with associate Joe Gu; and on intellectual property and data privacy matters by Bay Area partner Michelle Gross and Houston/Austin counsel Robert Brown, with associates Andrew Abokhair, Priyanka Krishnamurthy, and Lydia Lim.
