
Earthrise Energy (Earthrise), an independent power producer, has announced the successful closing of a US$360 million financing package to refinance its existing thermal portfolio debt and support the continued development of Earthrise’s co-located solar project portfolio. Earthrise’s co-located solar portfolio is expected to add more than 1.7 GW of renewable electricity to the grid through projects including Gibson City, a 270 MWac solar project under construction and expected to achieve commercial operations in 2026, and four other projects expected to commence construction in 2026.
Latham & Watkins LLP advised Earthrise in the financing, with a project finance team led by partners Chirag Dedania and Cameron Lyons, with associate Alice Dales,* with assistance from Patrick Rosand and Ben Krapels. Advice was also provided on federal energy regulatory matters by partner Tyler Brown and counsel Jamie Blackburn; on real estate matters by counsel Lisa Brabant; on derivatives matters by counsel Melissa Ferraro, with associate Derrick Vallejos; and on tax matters by associate Amirali Azinfar.
