Latham & Watkins has advised the finance parties of Nordic Infrastructure AG (NIAG) on its acquisition of Statkraft Varme’s bio-energy business. Statkraft Varme was acquired by NIAG in a consortium with the investment company Patrizia SE, which acquired Statkraft Varme’s waste business. The total consideration for Statkraft Varme was NOK 3.6 billion.
The acquisition continues NIAG’s long-term strategy to be the driving owner of renewable energy in Norway and Sweden, with the transaction perimeter including a total of 11 biomass-fueled sites, of which 7 are located in Norway and 4 in Sweden.
The Latham team was led by London infrastructure partner Conrad Andersen and counsel Amanda Fortuna, with associates Pete Ma, Alessandra Pirozzolo, Ajay Agarwal, and Samantha Wong.
