Latham Advises Boluda Towage on €2.15 Billion Refinancing

Latham & Watkins has advised Boluda Towage (Boluda), a leading maritime services operator with operations in more than 230 ports across Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania, and Latin America and a fleet of more than 850 vessels, in the syndicated raising of a €2.15 billion (equivalent) senior secured term loan B and a €300 million (equivalent) multi-currency revolving credit facility. The proceeds are to be applied towards the refinancing of certain existing indebtedness as well as for general corporate and working capital purposes.

This transaction follows the advice provided by the same Latham team on the financing of Boluda’s previous €1.1 billion term loan B and revolving facilities in 2024, as well as a €735 million acquisition loan facility in 2025. Following this latest transaction, Boluda will have consolidated and refinanced these separate financings under a combined perimeter, consistent with its record of acquisitions and integration, while enhancing its financial flexibility for growth opportunities.

The Latham team was led by London partner Hayden Teo and Madrid partner Fernando Colomina, with Madrid counsel Luis Sánchez, and associates Bryce McCarthy, Lourdes Colom, Grace McCarthy, and Charlotte Ma. Advice on US law matters was provided by Washington, D.C. partner Melissa Fabian, with associates Kendall Crawford and Jen Goldshtein; on Italian law matters by Milan partner Erika Brini Raimondi, with associates Francesca Parisini and Lorenzo Suzzi; on Singapore law matters by Singapore partner Timothy Hia, with associates Marc Tan and Aakash Sardana; on German law matters by Munich partner Thomas Weitkamp, with associate Johanna Woerle; on tax matters by Madrid partner Jordi Domínguez, London partner Karl Mah, and New York partner Bora Bozkurt, with Los Angeles counsel Kathryn Harrington, and associates Juan Rodríguez, Allegra Benitah, and George Yu; and on structured finance matters by London partner Delyth Hughes, with associate Airlia Hie.
