Latham Advises Ares Alternative Credit on US$2 Billion Partnership With Eni

Latham & Watkins has advised Ares Alternative Credit on its commitment of over US$2 billion to Eni as part of a long-term partnership agreement concerning a portfolio of upstream infrastructure.

Ares Alternative Credit focuses on asset-based finance and tactical asset investing opportunities beyond traditional markets, such as corporate debt, real estate, and private equity.

Eni is one of the largest international upstream operators globally, with a leading and diversified portfolio encompassing exploration and production infrastructure. The partnership is aimed at contributing to Eni’s acceleration of cash generation and growth.

The Latham team was led by London partners Tom Cochran, Calvin Ng, and Steve Curtis, with associates Juan Luis Llatas, Alima Laminu, Jack Baker, Jonathan Lauras, Milan Szvatko, and Daniel Wozniak. Advice was also provided on compliance and sanctions matters by New York partner Matthew Salerno, with associates Christopher Rydberg and Gregory Slevin.
