- Meralco’s Sale of 40% Stake in Terra Solar Project — Latham advised Manila Electric Company (Meralco) and its subsidiary, Solar Philippines New Energy Corporation, on its strategic partnership with Actis, a leading global investor in sustainable infrastructure. Meralco’s sale of a 40% stake in the Terra Solar Project, a US$3.5 billion project poised to be the world’s largest integrated renewables and energy storage project, represents the largest foreign direct investment for a greenfield infrastructure project in the Philippines.

- Muara Laboh Geothermal Plant Phase 2 — Latham acted as lead counsel to JBIC, NEXI, Asian Development Bank and commercial bank lenders on the expansion of the Muara Laboh geothermal power project in West Sumatra, Indonesia, a priority energy transition project under the Asia Zero Emission Community framework.

The proceeds of the loan will be used to help deliver on the company’s APAC pipeline of renewable energy projects in countries like the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia, and other eligible geographies in Southeast Asia.
