Kirkland advised New Catalyst Strategic Partners on a strategic minority investment in its business by Apollo Global Management, Inc. New Catalyst is a recently formed private equity firm led by Jason Howard, an alternatives industry veteran and former senior investment professional at GCM Grosvenor, that is primarily focused on investing in diverse and/or emerging investment fund managers. The strategic partnership established by this transaction includes a cornerstone capital commitment and operational support from Apollo to New Catalyst.
The team was led by corporate partners Michael Reeves and Rami Totari and associate Tonna Onyendu, and included investment funds partners Justin Solomon and Alexandria Glispie and associates Monica Pechous and Heaven Chandler; and tax partner Joel Peters-Fransen and associates Dion Toledo and Rachelle Stapley.
