Kirkland Advises HF Capital on Partnership with Ara Partners to Launch New Strategy to Decarbonize Conventional Energy Value Chain

Kirkland & Ellis advised HF Capital, LLC, the Tennessee-based family office of the Haslam family, on its investment of up to $725 million to launch Ara Energy Decarbonization, an initiative aimed at decarbonizing heavy industry, in partnership with Ara Partners, a global private equity and infrastructure firm dedicated to decarbonizing the industrial economy. Ara Energy Decarbonization will target investments in the conventional energy value chain, including power generation, merchant biofuels and supply and distribution businesses.

The Kirkland team was led by corporate partners Shubi Arora, Dov Kogen, Ahmed Sidik and Ryan Harris and associates Neil Datar and Allison Azarloza; and investment funds partners Michael Reeves, Matt Nadworny and Samara Shepherd.
