Kirkland & Ellis is advising global sports investment firm Dynasty Equity on fundraising in connection with a strategic common equity minority investment in the Liverpool Football Club. The investment was announced by majority owner Fenway Sports Group on September 28, 2023. Liverpool plans to use the proceeds from the investment to pay down bank debt incurred during the Covid-19 pandemic and capital expenses.
The Kirkland & Ellis team includes investment funds partners Erica Berthou, Matthew Pinegar, Linda Dahl, Daniel Kahl and Olga Kamensky and tax partners Lee Morlock and Joseph Tootle.
