Kirkland Advises Bertram on Close of $1.5 Billion Fund V

Kirkland & Ellis advised middle-market private equity firm Bertram Capital Management, LLC on the close of its fifth investment fund, Bertram Capital V, L.P. The fund was oversubscribed and closed at $1.5 billion, which was above the initial target of $1.25 billion. The closing was announced on January 18, 2024. Commitments came from a well-respected and diverse group of new and existing global limited partners, including public, corporate and foreign pension funds, endowments, insurance companies, foundations and family offices.

The Kirkland team was led by investment funds partners Karin Orsic and Mary Kwan and associate Ally Relat, and included tax partners Joel Peters-Fransen and Andrew Chan and associate Shiyu Ni; and investment funds regulatory partner Alpa Patel and associates Natalia Pszenny and Meng Ding.
