New York, 14 October 2026 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells Cadwalader announced today that Christopher Thalhammer has joined as a Banking & Loan Finance partner in its New York office. He joins the firm from Macquarie, where he was the Head of Legal for its Fund Finance business spanning the U.S., EMEA and APAC.

“We are very excited to welcome Chris Thalhammer to Hogan Lovells Cadwalader,” said Wes Misson, Global Managing Partner – Finance. “Macquarie is a global leader in the fund finance space and operates at the most sophisticated end of the market. With his significant experience, top reputation and robust industry relationships, Chris reflects the enduring appeal of Hogan Lovells Cadwalader as the preeminent firm for finance. It’s great news for our clients, colleagues and the firm.”

In his role with Macquarie, Thalhammer oversaw the team that handles hands-on structuring, documentation and negotiation of bespoke and highly complex fund finance transactions. His experience spans a range of transactions, including net asset value (NAV) facilities (including buyout, secondaries, credit, infrastructure and real estate); hybrids; continuation vehicle financings; unsecured bridge facilities; subscription lines; structured fund warehousing facilities; back-leverage facilities; management company loans; and hedge fund financings (including via OTC derivatives). Prior to joining Macquarie in 2011, Thalhammer practiced in the structured finance and derivatives group of a Magic Circle firm.

Bill Mills, Hogan Lovells Cadwalader’s Office Managing Partner for New York, noted “Chris is an important addition to our growing New York team. His experience helping businesses drive growth through new product development and geographic market expansion will be of tremendous value to our clients.”

“I’m thrilled to join Hogan Lovells Cadwalader,” said Thalhammer. “I’ve come to know the Fund Finance team here over the years and have found them to be a highly talented, collaborative group who are committed to legal excellence and exceptional client service. I’m looking forward to working alongside my new colleagues in achieving great results for our clients in a fund finance market that gets more innovative, and more exciting, every year.”

Thalhammer earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and his B.S. from Duke University.
