Global law firm Hogan Lovells Cadwalader has advised Woodmark Group GmbH, a portfolio company of funds managed by Vision Mittelstand Partners Management GmbH, on the acquisition of Appser Data Engineering S.L. (Apser), one of Spain’s leading, founder-led AWS focused cloud, AI and customer experience consultancies.
The acquisition marks another important milestone in Woodmark’s growth strategy. With Apser joining the platform, Woodmark expands its presence into Spain and advances its ambition to become a leading European Data & AI group powered by AWS. By bringing together Woodmark’s extensive expertise in data platforms, data governance, analytics, cloud modernization, and AI with Apser’s market leading capabilities in AI driven customer experience and contact center transformation, clients across Europe will benefit from a broader portfolio of services, increased innovation capacity, and expanded delivery capabilities.
Hogan Lovells Cadwalader has advised Woodmark with a cross-border team led by Hamburg-based partner Dr. Jan Philipp Feigen and Munich-based counsel Dr. Philipp Strümpell comprehensively on all matters related the transaction. The team also comprised partner Dr. Maximilian Menges, counsel Dr. Malte Ingwersen, associate Dr. Sebastian Merkel, projects associate Thorben Stute, associate Jan-Niklas Klinko and research assistant Andrea Schnelle (all Private Equity, Hamburg) as well as a team from the Madrid office led by partner Graciela Llaneza comprising senior associate María Gutiérrez and associate Cristina Adanero (all M&A/PE) and Counsel Patricia Sánchez and associate Mercedes López (Tax). In addition, a team led by Munich-based partner Dr. Thomas Freund advised Woodmark in relation to the financing of the transaction, including senior associate Tiziana Daxenberger and business lawyer Stefanie Grosch (both Munich).
