Hogan Lovells Cadwalader advises Soho Square Capital on strategic investment in Strathberry

Press releases|08 September 2026

London, 8 September 2026 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells Cadwalader has advised Soho Square Capital on its strategic investment in Strathberry, the Scottish luxury leather goods brand.

Founded in Edinburgh in 2013 by Guy and Leeanne Hundleby, Strathberry is an internationally recognised luxury leather goods brand, known for its craftsmanship and distinctive design. The business operates a digitally led, direct-to-consumer model alongside its own stores and a curated wholesale presence, and ships to more than 100 countries.

The investment will support Strathberry’s next phase of global expansion, with a particular focus on North America, the roll-out of new stores and continued investment in the brand. Soho Square’s flexible investment approach enables Strathberry’s founders to retain control of the business while accessing additional capital and strategic support for its growth plans.

The Hogan Lovells Cadwalader team was led by Private Equity partner James Cross, with support from senior associate James Scott, associate Seb Pell and trainee solicitor Simeng Fan.

Partner Tom Eyre-Brook and senior associate Adela Komorowska advised on tax matters; partner Francis Booth and associate Emma-Jane Shearer advised on banking and finance matters; partner Louise Crawford and senior associate Robert Fett advised on data, privacy and cybersecurity matters; associate Alice Russen advised on regulatory matters; partner Ed Bowyer and associate Fin Whish advised on employment matters; and partner Matthew Schernecke advised on US financing matters.

James Cross, Private Equity partner at Hogan Lovells Cadwalader, said: “We are delighted to have supported Soho Square on its investment in Strathberry. Strathberry has built a distinctive global luxury brand, and this investment will support the business as it enters its next phase of international growth. We look forward to seeing the business continue to develop alongside Soho Square.”
