Hogan Lovells Cadwalader advises Biesterfeld SE on the full acquisition of its Italian joint ventures

Global law firm Hogan Lovells Cadwalader has advised Biesterfeld SE on the acquisition of all shares in its Italian joint ventures, Biesterfeld Polybass S.p.A. and Biesterfeld Polychem S.r.l. The full integration of both companies strengthens the Biesterfeld Group’s presence in the Italian market and forms part of its international growth strategy.

By acquiring 100 percent of the shares in both companies, Biesterfeld is transitioning a partnership of almost 30 years into a new corporate structure. The full integration will further strengthen the collaboration across the Group while streamlining decision-making processes and operational structures. The former shareholders will continue to support the integration process until the end of 2026, while the companies’ operational management will remain unchanged.

Biesterfeld SE is the holding company of the Biesterfeld Group, one of the world’s leading distribution and service companies for plastics, rubber, specialty chemicals and ingredients. Founded in Hamburg in 1906, the Group today employs more than 1,200 people across more than 50 locations worldwide.

Hogan Lovells Cadwalader advised Biesterfeld SE on all legal matters relating to the transaction. The team was led by partner Dr. Maximilian Menges, and included counsel Dr. Philipp Strümpell, associate Dr. Sebastian Merkel and projects associate Björn Thorben Stute. Additional support was provided by partner Alessandro Seganfreddo and associate Andrea Firmano.
