Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer’s (HSF Kramer) venture & growth capital team has advised Pearler on its $16 million Series A capital raise. The round was led by existing investor, Portage, with participation from TEN13, Altered Capital, Archangel Ventures and others.
This new capital will be employed to fund new product development.
Pearler is an Australian company whose investment platform helps regular people, particularly young people, take control of their money and achieve financial independence through long-term, passive investing.
The HSF Kramer team was led by partner and Head of Venture and Growth Capital Australia, Elizabeth Henderson, senior associate, Roy Carbone, and solicitors, Isabelle Vrisakis, Elle Henricksen and Belinda Reilly.
Elizabeth Henderson, HSF Kramer partner, said, “Congratulations to Pearler, and its co-founders Nick Nicolaides and Hayden Smith, on this achievement. With the support of existing and new investors, the company’s Series A capital raise is a ringing endorsement of both its track-record and future opportunity. We enjoyed working again with the company and its team on this raise.”
Nick Nicolaides, CEO and Pearler co-founder, said, “This raise is a major milestone for Pearler and gives us the backing to build more products that help everyday Australians get ahead financially. HSF Kramer brought together a strong understanding of our business with practical advice to help us navigate the complexity of a larger transaction and stay focussed on our long-term vision and strategy.”
