Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer has advised Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison on the establishment of its partnership with Ooredoo Group, Nokia and NVIDIA to build one of Southeast Asia’s largest AI infrastructure platforms, targeting 1GW of NVIDIA DSX AI Factory capacity.
The project, Zankore by Indosat, will use NVIDIA DSX, a reference architecture, platform and ecosystem playbook that brings together accelerated computing, networking, power, cooling and operations as one system to maximise AI output.
“We are delighted to have advised Indosat on a landmark project for Indonesia designed to meet rapidly growing Asia-Pacific demand for secure and scalable AI computing,” said Jakarta partner Matthew Goerke.
The project is targeted to deliver the first 200MW of AI capacity in the first half of 2027, powered by NVIDIA GB300 NVL72.
“Zankore will provide the integrated AI platform that Southeast Asia needs to compete in this new era,” said Singapore-based Head of Asia M&A Malika Chandrasegaran.
“Built for hyperscalers, enterprises, governments and AI innovators, it will enable the region to accelerate innovation and unlock new opportunities for sustainable economic growth.”
Jakarta-listed Indosat provides cellular services, ICT solutions, data centres, residential fibre, electronic payment services, financial services and other digital services.
Matthew and Malika led the team advising Indosat, supported by senior associates Mark Khouri and Kenji Lee in Singapore.
