Herbert Smith Freehills Advises Lenders On Mtn Group’s Us$1 Billion Revolving Credit Facility

Herbert Smith Freehills advised on MTN Group Limited’s up to US$1,000,000,000 revolving credit facility in May 2023 in connection to the refinancing of its existing facility and acted for lenders on the transaction. Bank of America Europe Designated Activity Company, Citi and MUFG Bank, Ltd. acted as Global Co-ordinators, Bookrunners and Mandated Lead Arrangers. MTN Group Limited (Moody’s: Ba2 S&P: BB-) is a multinational mobile telecommunications company and Africa’s largest mobile network operator.

This involved both the London and Johannesburg offices, led by finance partner Will Nevin and associate Siqi Geng in London and supported by partner Edward Baring and of counsel Lamis Adam in South Africa.
