Filiberto Brozzetti joins Baker McKenzie Italy

Baker McKenzie Italy has announced the appointment of Filiberto Brozzetti as of counsel in the Intellectual Property, Technology and Data practice.

As a former legal adviser to two different members of the board of the Italian Data Protection Authority, for seven years and two successive terms, Filiberto gained unique experience, dealing not only with technical-legal support for the board’s activities on specific implementations of national and European data protection legislation, but also with international, institutional and academic relations at the highest level.

Filiberto is one of the leading experts on data protection and new technology law, with a specific focus on AI. This has earned him the position of assistant professor of AI, Law and Ethics at LUISS Guido Carli University of Rome, where he is coordinator of the law and technology teaching area of the Department of Law and teaches legal theory, data protection law and law and ethics of innovation.

He is also a consultant on data protection rules to facilitate international cooperation in counterterrorism of the United Nations Office for Counter Terrorism.

Francesca Gaudino, head of the Intellectual Property, Technology and Data practice in Italy, said:
We are excited to have Filiberto join our IP, Technology and Data practice. The arrival of a jurist of his calibre, with a perspective gained at the authority, will enable us to complement our vision and offer clients even more strategic advice on complex issues related to data processing and the application of disruptive technologies.

Today, Baker McKenzie, in its two offices in Milan and Rome, has more than 120 lawyers and accountants, including 22 partners, four of counsel, 19 counsel and 80 associates.
